Theatre Quest is closed
TQ is the third attempt in this area to have a live theatre and film resource, and all three have closed. TQ lasted
just shy of four years.
The notion behind TQ was four-pronged: 1) to give actors a “one stop shop” to see auditions for live theatre and film projects,
2) give exposure to live theatres so patrons could see what plays are being offered and hopefully help fill their shows,
3) give high school and church theatre groups an opportunity to display their productions,
and 4) give local film production companies an opportunity to be seen.
The idea was for live theatre houses, high school drama instructors, church drama directors and film producers to email their info to TQ and we would display all of their info – for no charge ever, complete with accurate info and graphics.
However, only one live theatre house, three dinner theatre groups and one Improv group sent their info on a regular basis. The brain behind one of the most successful former sites, Carols Curtain Call, told me to run this site and don’t let the site run me. In the end, we spent countless hours and emails going from site to site looking for info, shows, auditions, director names, correct information, show times and various details so the site would be accurate and dependable and more importantly - helpful.
So, after the fifth time of asking ourselves, “Is the site running us?” the decision was made. The only question we had left was “If the very folks who we were trying to help didn’t make the effort, why should we continue for zero pay?”
See a show. Make a film. Learn your lines. Support the Arts. Volunteer and be happy.
